Lugnåsberget is Västergötland’s smallest plateau mountain and lies both in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Vänerskärgården med Kinnekulle (Lake Vänern archipelago with Kinnekulle mountain) and UNESCO Platåbergens (Table Mountain’s) Geopark.

Here you can wind down in your own oasis, far from the stress and the crowds. Here you can relax in the garden, pet the sheep, listen to the birds, read or write a book and just enjoy the tranquillity.

You can socialise with near and dear ones and meet new friends if you wish. The garden is large and there is room for both play and relaxation. At night the darkness means the starry sky is often magical.

We always recommend a hike along Stenhuggarstigen (Stonecutter’s Path), or a visit to Qvarnstensgruvan (the Millstone Mine) Museum. In both cases you can, in a pleasant and relaxed way, get a feel for Lugnåsberget’s exciting and stony history.

If you are ready for a day out, many of Västergötland’s attractions such as the Göta Canal Locks, the orchids of Kinnekulle Mountain, Läckö fairy-tale castle, Varnhems Kata Gård Viking farm remains, the cranes of Hornborga Lake and Skara Sommarland water-world lie within a convenient distance.

we are happy that our guests appreciate our eco-hotel in Sweden.

Perfect little hostel! We (two adults and a dog) had a perfect stay at Lugnasberget. The owner contacted us in advance via SMS and was very friendly and helpfull with any information at our arrival. The room with private bathroom and the kitchen were very clean and welcoming. We also appreciated the whole concept of the hostel-owners trying to protect the environment and being concerned about energysafeing. The hostel is great for families with kids and anybody who loves to be in the lovely countryside but still close to many attractions. We already recommended it to our friends and would love to come back one day.

Fantastic Accommodation and Hosts! I stayed at Lugnasberget for 7 nights while participating in a workshop, and cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone who is planning to see the Swedish countryside. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and there is plenty of hot water available. Pia and Jesper provide wonderful food and as much information on the local history and sights as you will ever need - better than a guide book.
