Take the family on a “stone-cool” vacation for some peaceful and fun days at Lugnåsberget. Here, the active and nature-loving family can explore the beautiful and varied nature of Lugnåsberget.
Lugnåsberget is characterized by millstones and stone masons, and by walking the Stenhuggarstigen hiking trail and visiting the Qvarnstensgruvan museum, you and your family can learn about the mountain’s exciting and rocky history.
Day 1: Cycle to the nature reserve Vristulven, 5 km. Swim, hike, or fish, and enjoy a picnic along the shoreline. Nearby, there are fascinating places to discover, such as an ancient fort, a mysterious robber’s cave, and a spooky wolf pit. There are several fire pits along the lake, but you’ll need to bring your own firewood. In the evening, you can enjoy a sauna at the eco-hotel.
Day 2: Hike the Stenhuggarstigen, a marked trail of about 6 km with information about the mountain. How many millstones are there along the trail? If it feels too long to walk, bring some snacks to take a break along the way. Back at the eco-hotel, you can light a fire at one of the fire pits and have dinner by the glow of the flames.
There is also time for play in the garden, reading aloud, and games. In the summer, you can rent a canoe if you want to explore more of Lake Vristulven or hike further to Qvarnstensgruvan and take a guided tour into the exciting mine located there. Please support the local Lugnås by purchasing something tasty from the deli, candy from Lotta’s, and a pizza at E3baren.
It is peaceful and tranquil here, without stress and crowds, in a lovely rural setting. Sheep and chickens are present in the pasture during the summer, and our windbreak is there as well. It can be an exciting experience to spend a night here.
You will stay comfortably in family rooms with private entrances and shower/WC. Depending on which room you choose, there may also be a private kitchen or a simpler kitchenette.
